About ÖSD Zertifikat B1

What it is: The Austrian German certificate (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch) at level B1.
Level: B1Intermediate. You can follow clear everyday German at work, school and while travelling.
Who needs it: Ausbildung (vocational training) visa: B1 is the usual level, unless the training company tested your German itself. Settlement permit: 'sufficient German' in the law means B1. German citizenship: B1 German is a requirement.
Who runs it: A licensed ÖSD exam centre
Format: Four modules: reading 65 min, listening about 40 min, writing 60 min, speaking about 15 min in pairs. Modules can be taken separately. Offered on paper and digitally (depends on the centre). For learners aged 16 and over.
Fee: Fees vary by level, country and centre; ask your centre.
How to register: Directly with the exam centre, which sets the registration period.
Seats: ÖSD does not publish seat counts.
Results: Your exam centre tells you when. No time limit in principle. Some authorities ask for a certificate under two years old.
Study time: Typical guidance: 350 to 650 lessons of 45 minutes (Goethe).
