What it is: An exam period at this centre. The centre runs separate telc exams at the levels listed: A1.
Level: A1
Who needs it: Spouse or family visa: usually A1 German before joining a spouse in Germany. Some applicants are exempt (for example spouses of Blue Card or skilled-worker holders, some nationalities, university degree holders). Check with the German mission that issues the visa.
Who runs it: A licensed telc exam centre
Format: Written: listening about 20 min, then reading and writing 45 min, no break. Speaking about 15 min, usually in a group of four, no time to prepare. Cannot be taken in parts.

How to register: Directly with the exam centre. It gives the exact exam day inside the period.
Seats: telc does not publish seat counts.
Results: Usually 4 to 6 weeks. Ask the institution that will receive your certificate whether it accepts older certificates.
