About Goethe-Zertifikat C2

What it is: The Goethe-Institut's German certificate at level C2.
Level: C2Mastery. You understand almost everything you hear or read.
Who needs it: Goethe names C2 GDS as a recognised language certificate for university study under the national framework (RO-DT). Check your course's requirements with the university.
Who runs it: Goethe-Institut and its licensed partner centres
Format: Four modules: reading 80 min, listening about 35 min, writing 80 min, speaking about 15 min on your own with 15 min to prepare. You can take modules separately or together. Pass mark 60% per module.
Fee: Set by each Goethe-Institut or partner centre. See the official page.
How to register: Through the Goethe-Institut webshop of this centre. Booking opens on the date shown and closes at the deadline shown.
Seats: Goethe does not publish seat counts.
Results: Your Goethe centre tells you when results are published. The certificate has no expiry date. The receiving office may ask for a recent one.
Study time: Typical guidance: At least 1,000 lessons of 45 minutes (Goethe intensive courses) (Goethe).
