About TestAS

What it is: The aptitude test for international applicants who plan to study in Germany. It tests study skills, not German.
Who needs it: Bachelor applicants whose university asks for it. Vietnam: required in the APS procedure for applicants without a degree. India: only when your university asks.
Who runs it: g.a.s.t. at authorised test centres
Format: Core module about 90 min, a 30 min break, then one subject module of 90 min (humanities and social sciences, life sciences, engineering, maths and computer science, economics, or medicine). Digital takes about 3.5 hours, paper about 4.5 hours. In English or German.
Fee: Three country groups with different prices. Your price shows when you register.
How to register: Online in the g.a.s.t. portal: pick a date and centre, then register. Digital registration closes about one week before the test; paper about five weeks before.
Results: In the participant portal about 3 weeks after the digital test, about 4 weeks after paper. No email is sent. The TestAS certificate has no expiry date.
